The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani received the United Kingdom's special envoy to the Western Balkans Lord Stuart Peach, whom she congratulated on his appointment to the House of Lords.
At the meeting with Lord Peach, President Osmani emphasized that the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo are dedicated and committed to peace and security.
President Osmani pointed out that Kosovo continues to coordinate with international partners in addressing of security challenges, and in this context, she asked for greater involvement of Great Britain as Kosovo's historic partner and a key NATO member.
While informing Lord Peach of the latest developments in the country, President Osmani emphasized that Kosovo continues to be a constructive party in relation to the dialogue with Serbia, but the Serbian side through efforts to destabilize Kosovo, tries to shift the focus away from the dialogue.
In this spirit, President Osmani requested that the international community takes a unique stance towards Serbia's destabilizing tendencies by condemning such actions and not equating the parties when it is clear who the aggressor is.
According to President Osmani, in the north of Kosovo, the legal and judicial order is being challenged by armed criminal gangs directed by the Serbian leadership, who are currently on the US and UK blacklists.
President Osmani also added that it is the responsibility of Kosovo's institutions in coordination with international partners to ensure the rule of law, peace and security in an equal manner throughout the Republic of Kosovo and for all citizens without distinction.
