The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani, on the eve of the official commencement of the Compact Program, met with Mr. Cameron Alford, vice president at Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) today.
The official commencement of the Compact Program was discussed at the meeting, with President Osmani emphasizing that the grant of over 200 million euros from the MCC will profoundly transform our energy sector. Furthermore, President Osmani added that this program will make a strategic contribution to the improvement of the energy infrastructure, strengthen the private sector as well as promote economic opportunities for the citizens of Kosovo.
In this spirit, President Osmani expressed her gratitude for the continuous support by the MCC, while emphasizing that the Compact Program is the largest investment in the field of energy and serves as a proof of the strength of the Kosovo-USA partnership.
Madam President also emphasized that this program will guarantee an energy future where women will have a key role and will be active contributors in addressing future challenges in the field of energy.
