President Osmani on the anniversary of the February 3–4, 2000 massacre in Mitrovica: Mitrovica stood and did not break, and this crime will never be forgotten and justice will remain an incessant demand

On the anniversary of the February 3–4, 2000 massacre in Mitrovica, we remember with pain and deep respect one of the most serious wounds of the post-war period. In those dark days, Serbian criminal gangs killed 10 innocent civilians, injured 25 others and forcibly expelled 1,564 families with a total of 11,364 members from their homes.

This was a clear crime against humanity, a brutal attempt to break the spirit of a city and to eliminate the presence of Albanians in the northern part of this city. Mitrovica stood and did not break, and this crime will never be forgotten and justice will remain an incessant demand

We bow to the victims and stand with their families, because truth, memory, and justice are the foundation upon which lasting peace is built.
