During the high-level week of the United Nations General Assembly, President Vjosa Osmani was the main speaker at the Global Conference of Women Leaders (GPWC), which was held at the same time.
On this occasion, speaking on the topic of “Advancement of women’s transformative leadership for sustainable global impact”, President Osmani emphasized that while we face more and more global challenges, the power of diversity and inclusiveness in leadership positions cannot and should not be underestimated.
“In our efforts to advance the effectiveness of women’s transformative leadership, it is imperative to guarantee their empowerment in all spheres of life. This means providing equal opportunities in education, employment and leadership roles through challenging stereotypes and prejudices that persist in our societies”, emphasized President Osmani. She also spoke about the importance of fostering an environment that guarantees and enables their voice and ideas to be heard and valued.
In this address, President Osmani also spoke about the extraordinary successes and engagement of the women of Kosovo, showing their endurance, courage and dedication to the increase of well-being and strengthening of the society in general.
President Osmani emphasized that the promotion of transformative leadership for positive global impact is not a choice, but a necessity and it is our collective responsibility to nurture these qualities in us and in future generations, always respecting and advancing gender equality.
The Global Women Leadership Conference (GPWC) is an annual conference organized by the Center for Economic Development and Leadership in collaboration with Amazon Watch Magazine and African Leadership Magazine and aims to bring together women leaders to discuss strategies to address the underrepresentation of women in decision-making roles in worldwide.
