President Osmani after the meeting with Ambassador Ziv: Agreement reached with Israel on the abolition of visas for citizens of Kosovo

The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani received the Ambassador of the State of Israel to the Republic of Kosovo, Tamar Ziv.

The two countries, as well as interstate agreements in various fields, which are expected to be signed soon were discussed at the meeting.

Ambassador Ziv informed President Osmani that following the President’s request submitted to Israeli institutions, the government of Israel has expressed its agreement for the approval of the visa waiver agreement for citizens of Kosovo.

In this direction, the two relevant ministries will continue with the agreement signing procedures and citizens will be notified as soon as the decision enters into force. Through this agreement, citizens of Kosovo will be able to travel without visa requirement to Israel for tourist purposes.

President Osmani thanked Ambassador Ziv for this decision, a positive development which will pave the way for deeper cooperation between the two countries.

On the occasion of the anniversary of the Holocaust Remembrance Day, President Osmani reiterated that Kosovo remembers the millions of innocent people lost in one of the darkest chapters of human history, and that this day serves as a reminder of the devastating consequences that stem from hatred and prejudice.

Ambassador Ziv informed Madam President with the security situation in Israel while President Osmani informed the ambassador on the latest developments in the country and the in region.
