President Omani received the Charge d'Affaires of the Embassy of Japan to Kosovo, Mr. Keisuke Yamanaka

The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Omani received at a meeting the Charge d'Affaires of the Embassy of Japan to Kosovo, Mr. Keisuke Yamanaka.

The discussion at the meeting focused on bilateral relations, cooperation in the field of foreign policy, pandemic management and opportunities for further expansion of cooperation in other areas.

President Osmani thanked Mr. Yamanaka for the Japanese support so far, asking for the continuation of support for the process of Kosovo's membership in international organizations.

Japan has a continuous presence through projects in Kosovo, and the President has asked for support in the field of education, respectively in increasing the number of scholarships for Kosovar students who want to study in Japan.

Furthermore, Madam President emphasized the opportunities that Kosovo offers for Japanese investments and in this context mentioned the young age of the population and the skilled workforce. According to her, Kosovo has the potential to develop cooperation with Japan in the field of economy, trade, healthcare, education, culture, as well as other areas of mutual interest.

Meanwhile, Mr. Yamanaka expressed the readiness of his country to continue supporting Kosovo and mentioned the Japanese organization JICA, which according to him continues to implement projects in Kosovo.

During the discussion on the management of the pandemic, Mr. Yamanaka announced that his country will continue to support Kosovo in the field of healthcare, announcing the issuance of donations to healthcare institutions.
