President Jahjaga visited the Mahis school, in Amman, Jordan

President of the Republic of Kosovo, on the first day of an official visit to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, upon an official invitation by King Abdullah, visited today the Mahis high school. This school is part of the Madrasati Initiative, launched by Queen Rania of Jordan, which aims to improve the conditions in schools in need of assistance, affecting over 250.000 pupils.

President Jahjaga was received by the school leadership, school attended by 560 pupil which benefit from Madrasati Initiative. They informed Madam President with the conditions and the school curriculum as well as the achievements of this school since the commencement of the implementation of Queen Rania’s initiative on improvement of the condition in the schools of the country.

President Jahjaga thanked the hosts for a very warm welcome and emphasized that education is a key to the development of any society and that through qualitative education sustainable progress can be attained. She also added that education of girls is of particular importance for a society, as they are the pillars of the family and carriers of education to the young generations, pointing out that in some countries of the world girls are still deprived of the right to education.

Madam President emphasized that the example of the Mahis School must serve as an inspiration for many young girls worldwide.

President of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Atifete Jahjaga, during her stay at the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan will be meeting with King Abdullah of Jordan, as well as the Prime Minster of the Kingdom of Jordan, Dr. Abdullah Ensour.
