President Jahjaga took part in a public discussion on the occasion of the marking of the 800th anniversary of the drafting of the Magna Carta

The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Madam Atifete Jahjaga, during her stay in the United Kingdom, took part in a public discussion on the occasion of the marking of the 800th anniversary of the drafting of the Magna Carta, organized in the British Library in London.

In the organized panel with topic “The law of the land-How to create a country”, together with President Jahjaga, participated Sir Jeremy Greenstock, former Ambassador of the United Kingdom in the UN, Albie Sachs, former judge of the Constitutional Court of South Africa and was led by Professor Ngaire Woods, dean of the Blavatnik School of the University of Oxford.

In her presentation President Jahjaga spoke about the peaceful resistance in Kosovo and the war period for its liberation as well as about the efforts to rebuild the country with the international assistance. She also spoke about Kosovo’s state-building process, in terms of constitutionality. President Jahjaga during the presentation was also asked about the establishment of the institutions of the country in particular the security institutions.
