President of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Atifete Jahjaga, received today at a meeting the Foreign Affairs Minister of the Republic of Albania, Mr. Ditmir Bushati, with whom she discussed the processes through which both countries are going through, mutual cooperation as well as the mutual help which can be provided on each other’s European integration process.
President Jahjaga stated that Republic of Kosovo and Republic of Albania enjoy excellent cooperation in various fields and said that relations between two countries serve as an example to the whole region.
Madam President also added that the whole region of western Balkans has entered into a new stage of integration and neighbourly cooperation, and Kosovo and Albania, as factors of peace and stability, play an important role in the region. President Jahjaga said that both countries must expand cooperation in all fields, with an emphasis in the field of European integrations.
According to Madam President, 2014 is a year of a particular importance for the realisation of the vision of a viable Kosovo, determined to undertake all the reforms which will bring the country closer to its primary ambition, Euro-Atlantic integration.
She also said that Kosovo still has two remaining processes to go through with, of a special importance, one being the process of the international consolidation of the country, particularly the augmentation of the number of recognitions and second one, the establishment of the Armed Forces of Kosovo.
The Foreign Affairs Minister of the Republic of Albania, Mr. Ditmir Bushati, expressed the dedication of his country towards the intensification of the relations between the two countries and the expansion of cooperation in various fields, especially in the economic field. He added that Albania remains dedicated to the supporting of the membership of Kosovo into regional and international initiatives.
