The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Madam Atifete Jahjaga, received today the sportswoman Nora Gjakova, winner of the first medal for the state of Kosovo in the European Olympic Games held in Baku, Azerbaijan.
President Jahjaga, congratulating her on the medal won at the European Olympic Games said that this victory marks the history of the sport of Kosovo in the international scene as the first medal for the new state. She said that the participation of the Kosovo athletes in international competitions marks the recognition of Kosovo and its effort to be an equal part of the people in the world.
President Jahjaga stressed that Kosovo is showing that it has the potential and numerous talents in all fields and it is represented with dignity.
The winner of the medal at the European Olympic Games, Nora Gjakova, accompanied also by her coach, thanked President Jahjaga for the continued support and said that the gainedmedal is dedicated to Kosovo. She said she was proud to represent her country at the first European Games.
