The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Madam Atifete Jahjaga, received today the Head of the EU Mission for the rule of law, EULEX, Mr. Gabriele Meucci, with whom she discussed about the cooperation with the Kosovo institutions in the field of justice, as well as on increasing the efficiency in the fight against corruption and organized crime.
President Jahjaga in conversation with Mr. Meucci was interested particularly about the case of the deputy of the Assembly of Kosovo and the President of the Initiative for Kosovo, Mr. Fatmir Limaj and the putting of justice in place for this case. President Jahjaga said that her constitutional responsibilities do not enable and do not allow interference in the judicial system, which must be completely politically impartial and professional, but stressed that the finding of the truth and would help justice to reduce the possible tensions in the country.
President Jahjaga stressed that Kosovo should be built on the principles of the state of law, in which all citizens are equal before the law and where the rule of law and order rules, which helps in the general development of the society
