The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Madam Atifete Jahjaga, on the first day of her visit to New York, within the activities on the occasion of the General Assembly of the UN, participated today at the opening of the annual meeting of the Clinton Global Initiative in New York.
President Jahjaga also attended the special reception of President Bill Clinton for the leaders of the states and governments of most countries of the world.
In his speech which opened the proceedings of the initiative, President Clinton highlighted also the progress of the Republic of Kosovo, saying that “the fact that Kosovo has a young woman President, speaks a lot about the progress that Kosovo has achieved”.
President Jahjaga is a laureate of the prize for public leadership of the Clinton Global Initiative, which was awarded to her last year.
This year, the meeting of the Clinton Global Initiative gathers many state leaders and hundreds executive global leaders to discuss about the global challenges and the building of partnerships to make positive social changes. This initiative this year is dedicated to “The impact of the future”.
