The President: Krusha e Madhe, Krusha e Vogël and the surrounding villages are a corroboration of the price of freedom

The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani Sadriu commemorated the hundreds killed in Krusha, Rahovec and other surrounding villages between March 25th and 27th, 1999.

“The three days of horror are evidence of the ferocity of the genocidal Serbian establishment, which did not choose means against the inhabitants of these villages,” said President Osmani.

Below is President Osmani's entire post:

Between March 25th and 27th 1999, in Krusha of Rahovec and other surrounding villages, hundreds of innocent people were killed and most of the houses in these villages were burned. The three days of horror are evidence of the ferocity of the genocidal power of Serbia, which did not choose means against the inhabitants of these villages.

Krusha e Madhe, Krusha e Vogël and the surrounding villages are a corroboration of the price of freedom and the sacrifice for it. These places evoke pain and sorrow, but also pride. 23 years after the crime, the women of Krusha have become an inspiration and a model of triumph over evil.

Krusha and the entire state of Kosovo will always live with the memory of all those who fell for freedom. We will not forget them, but just like the women of Krusha we will look to the future and we will not stop seeking justice.

Each of these days till mid-June is filled with pain and pride for the people of Kosovo. Yesterday we also commemorated the victims of the massacre in Kotlina, Kaçanik, of the activists Latif Berisha and Agim Hajrizi (with family members) who were executed on March 24 in Mitrovica, as well as the lawyer and humanist Bajram Kelmendi, who was brutally executed together with his two sons. Tomorrow marks 23 years since the horrific massacre of the Berisha family in Suhareka, where the then Serbian government proved its exterminating intent by brutally killing children, women and the elderly.

All the fallen are our eternal memory, but also the strength and will to move forward!
