The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani has expressed condolences on the passing away of former US Secretary of State, Madeleine Albright.
President Osmani said that she gave us hope, when we did not have it, she became our voice and our support when we had neither voice nor support.
“She knew the pain of our people because she had also experienced persecution since childhood, therefor she stood determined against Milosevic until the end of his genocide in Kosovo”, said President Osmani.

Deeply shaken by the loss of Kosovo’s great friend, Madeleine Albright, former US Secretary of State. She gave us hope, when we did not have it, she became our voice and our support when we had neither voice nor support. She knew the pain of our people because she had also experienced persecution since childhood, therefor she stood determined against Milosevic until the end of his genocide in Kosovo. She supported Kosovo unceasingly until the last breath, therefore the people of Kosovo will remember her forever.
Her model of an undefeatable, brave heroine and determined to sow democratic values in every country, will always remain the model that we, who were lucky enough to know her, and many generations after us, will follow.
