The Office of the President of the Republic of Kosovo, today submitted the comments to the Constitutional Court regarding the merits of the request of the claims of the claimants for the assessment of the constitutionality of Decree No. 24/2020 of the President of the Republic of Kosovo, dated 30.04.2020, by which Decree, according to the proposal of the Democratic League of Kosovo, Mr. Avdullah Hoti has been proposed to the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo as a candidate for Prime Minister to form the new Government.
The President of the Republic of Kosovo issued this Decree after consulting with all political parties represented in the Assembly and the consent of the vast majority of them to form a new Government.
As a representative of the unity of the people and a guarantor of the democratic and constitutional functioning of the institutions, the President through the issuance of Decree No. 24/2020 has acted within his competencies defined by the Constitution and according to the standards defined in the Judgment of the Constitutional Court in case KO103/14.
