Prishtina, February 23 – The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, has traveled today to the United States of America, where he will meet senior US administration officials. The USA has returned its attention to the developments in Kosovo and the region, committing itself to reaching a final peace agreement between Kosovo and Serbia, as well as paving the way for foreign investment and economic development.
Before heading for the USA, President Thaçi stated that “Kosovo is lucky that the United States of America maintains its commitment to Kosovo, to the peace, stability and prosperity of Kosovo and the entire region”.
“President Trump’s leadership, the support of Secretary Pompey, and the direct engagement of Special Envoy, Ambassador Grenell, are an encouragement to us”, said President Thaçi.
“We are blessed with our lasting friendship, with our special relationship with the United States of America”, President Thaçi added.
In Washington, President Thaçi will also have presentations in two debates on developments in Kosovo and the region, one at the Brookings Institution and the other at the Atlantic Council, as well as meetings at influential think tanks on US foreign policy. President Thaçi will talk about the achievements so far, Kosovo’s priorities and the challenges and opportunities on the path of Euro-Atlantic integration.
