President Thaçi received US Congressman Ed Case, talk about peace and regional stability

Prishtina, May 11th 2019 – President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, received today the US Congressman Ed Case, who was accompanied by the US Ambassador, Philip Kosnett.

President Thaçi and US Congressman Ed Case discussed the bilateral cooperation between Kosovo and the USA, the contribution of the US soldiers within KFOR in Kosovo and the political situation in our region.

Congressman Case confirmed that the US remain Kosovo’s unwavering partner and stated that he is proud with the services that Hawaii National Guard is offering to the KFOR.

“US soldiers are our heroes. They ate doing a magnificent job in Kosovo and they enjoy the respect of all communities. US soldiers are a hope and faith to us!”, said President Thaçi.

The dialogue process between Kosovo and Serbia was also discussed at the meeting, during which Congressman Case encouraged the continuation of the dialogue and the achievement of a comprehensive agreement with Serbia, which would strengthen the peace and stability in the region, and would expedite the process of Kosovo’s Euro-Atlantic integrations.

President Thaçi pointed out that President Trump’s letters are a guideline for Kosovo in its achievement of a final agreement with Serbia.

“Dialogue is the only alternative and the longer the recommencement is delayed, the longer shall the integrative processes last for,” said President Thaçi.

President Thaçi and Congressman Ed Case also discussed the US investments in Kosovo.
