President Thaçi received the senior official of the US State Department, Susan Falatko

Prishtina, May 28, 2019 – The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, received today the Acting Director of Office of South Central European Affairs at the US State Department, Susan Falatko, who was also accompanied by Ambassador Philip Kosnett.

President Thaçi and Director Falatko discussed about the process of normalizing relations between Kosovo and Serbia, as well as the rule of law and order in Kosovo.

“Kosovo is committed to the strengthening of good neighborliness. The dialogue must continue unconditionally, with a consensual support of all the Quint states”, stated President Thaçi, stressing that the role of the USA is irreplaceable.

Likewise, President Thaçi emphasized that the fight against organized crime, contraband and corruption is permanent and it will continue.

“The local institutions have received competencies in the field of rule of law a year ago and now we have an added dynamics”, said President Thaçi.

On the other hand, Director Susan Falatko emphasized the importance for Kosovo to remain committed to the strengthening of the rule of law and the achievement of normalization of relations with Serbia.

She reaffirmed that the USA will remain committed to the advancement of bilateral and regional interests.

President Thaçi thanked Director Falatko for the continued support of the USA.
