Prishtina, July 30th 2020 – President of the Republic of Kosovo Hashim Thaçi received today the credentials of the new Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Kosovo, Jörn Rohde.
While wishing him a successful tenure in Kosovo, President Thaçi offered hiss full cooperation to the new German Ambassador in expansion of the cooperation between the two states.
“Germany is an important European political address for Kosovo. We are grateful for the support that the German people have provided to processes of liberation, independence and state building, “said President Thaçi.
The overcoming of challenges presented by COVID-19 pandemic was also discussed at the meeting.
The new German Ambassador, Jörn Rohde stated that Germany will continue to support Kosovo in the future as well.
President Thaçi also added that he is optimistic that during the German presidency of the European Union, the visa liberalisation for our citizens might come into effect, taking into consideration the fact that Kosovo has for some years now accomplished the criteria set by the European Union. ​
