President Thaçi met with representatives of EU observers

Prishtina, October 4th – The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, received today a delegation of the European Parliament Election Observation Mission, headed by MP Viola von Cramon-Taubadel, whom he thanked for their contribution to the development of the elections in Kosovo.

President Thaçi has expressed gratitude for the support that the EU institutions have offered continuously to Kosovo in strengthening democratic institutions and principles.

“We are grateful for your role in monitoring the elections, but also for your recommendations as a way to further improve the electoral process in Kosovo”, said President Thaçi.

President Thaçi has said that Kosovo is going through a normal electoral process, and this is confirming that “Kosovo has established a tradition of free, fair and democratic elections, highly praised, and the acceptance of election results”.

President Thaçi expressed concern with the reports of intimidation of Serb voters in northern Kosovo and invited the observers to be present in the north and to report on anything they notice.

The Member of the European Parliament Cramon-Taubadel expressed her satisfaction that the European Parliament will monitor these elections as well and requested that the recommendations that this observation mission has given and will give shall be considered by the Kosovo institutions.
