Prishtina, March 14, 2020 – The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, has taken the decision to postpone the elections for Mayor of the Municipality of Podujeva after having received a recommendation from the President of the Central Election Commission, Valdete Daka.
Pursuant to Article 6 of Law No. 03/L-094 on the President of the Republic of Kosovo (OG No. 47, January 25, 2009), Article 4 of Law No. 03/L-072 on the Local Elections in the Republic of Kosovo (OG No. 32, June 15, 2008), and taking into consideration the request of the Central Election Commission, received by the Office of the President on March 14, 2020, the President of the Republic of Kosovo has issued a decision postponing the holding of the extraordinary elections for Mayor of the Municipality in Podujeva.
The date of the elections shall be determined later, after the assessment of the epidemiological situation and after the acceptance of the assessment that it will be safe to hold the elections for Mayor of the Municipality of Podujeva.
