Prishtina, August 10, 2016 – The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, has received today the world-famous Kosovar singer Dua Lipa, who was also accompanied by her father, former singer of the band “Oda”, Dukagjin Lipa.
President Thaçi has awarded singer Dua Lipa with the Presidential Medal of Merits.
“Dua’s success is the success of all those who are proud of our present and of our future. This success is only the beginning of a huge explosion in the international arena”, stated President Thaçi.
He said that Kosovo, in a dignified manner, is building the Kosovar identity of success, therefore as the President of the Republic of Kosovo, he has the honor and pleasure that, for the special contribution, to award this medal to Dua Lipa for her success
On the other hand, Kosovo’s world-famous singer, Dua Lipa, stated of being happy and proud with the opportunities to promote her country.
“I am very happy and proud that I can represent my country and that I can come, give a concert like this. It is a little indescribable, but I am very very happy”, stated singer Dua Lipa.
President Thaçi said that the year 2016 was a year of Kosovo, the year of Dua, the year of Majlinda, Rita and of all those Kosovar football players across the world.
