Prishtina, September 18, 2017 – The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, as the head of the Kosovo delegation, accompanied by the First Lady of State, Lumnije Thaçi, is travelled today to New York, where he will attend the next session of the General Assembly of the United Nations.
Upon the invitation of the President of the United States of America, Donald Trump, and the First Lady, Melania Trump, at the margins of the Assembly, President Thaçi and the First Lady of Kosovo will be expected by the Presidential couple Trump.
During the visit, President Thaçi is expected to have a brief meeting with President Trump.
During the five-day visit to New York, President Thaçi will develop numerous bilateral meetings with heads of state and leaders of various international organizations.
President Thaçi will also attend the meeting of the heads of the six Western Balkan countries, hosted by the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Federica Mogherini.
The Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Behgjet Pacolli is also part of the delegation of Kosovo.
