Today, the President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, had a telephone conversation with the President of the State of Israel, Isaac Herzog. She congratulated President Herzog on taking office and expressed the readiness of the Republic of Kosovo to deepen cooperation with Israel in the field of politics, trade, education, energy and defense.
On the other hand, President Herzog expressed gratitude for the establishment of the diplomatic relations between the two countries and offered his support for the deepening of bilateral relations.
Further, in this telephone conversation, President Osmani emphasized that Kosovo’s relationship with Israel is early and dates back to the period of the World War II when Albanians in Kosovo protected Jews, while President Herzog underlined the support of the state of Israel for Albanian refugees from the war in Kosovo.
President Osmani and President Herzog agreed on further communication and the realization of respective visits to Kosovo and Israel.
