The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, was received today at a meeting by the President of the Republic of Panama Laurentino Cortizo, opening new chapters of cooperation between our two countries.
At the meeting with President Cortizo, President Osmani highly praised the amicable relations between the two countries and the commitment to further strengthen cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
The President thanked President Cortizo for Panama's support to Kosovo since its independence and for the bilateral commitment to deepen the interstate partnership. “As one of the most influential countries in the Latin American region, Panama has supported Kosovo for more than a decade in all its efforts for membership in international organizations and for strengthening our position in the world,” said President Osmani during the meeting.
President Osmani and President Cortizo also discussed the steps that will be taken to further strengthen interstate cooperation in all areas of mutual interest, inclusive of trade, education, culture and entrepreneurship, as well as the further support that Kosovo needs in the process of its membership in international organizations. Madam President also mentioned the potential for foreign investment in Kosovo, as a good opportunity for economic exchange between the two countries.
During her official visit to Panama, President Osmani is holding meetings with senior state leaders, the business community, and entrepreneurs and has participated in several different cultural initiatives. President Osmani will also inaugurate the statue of St. Teresa at a ceremony jointly organised with the Panamanian Foreign Minister Erika Mouynes and the Archbishop of Panama, José Domingo Ulloa.
