The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, received today in a meeting a
delegation of the Kosovo Women Network.
The representatives of this Network have given their support to the work of President
Osmani so far, appreciating her commitment to empowering women and considering
her role in the efforts for the inclusion of women in all processes as very necessary.
The KWN has sought the President’s support for changes to the Electoral Law. They
requested that the Law on the General Election to be in line with the Law on Gender
Equality, on which they have received the support of the President.
Whereas, President Osmani has stressed that during her term, the issue of gender
equality is one of her priorities along with the rights of children with special needs, as
well as the green agenda.
In this meeting, the KWN raised the need for women’s representation in the dialogue
process with Serbia.
