The President of the Republic, Dr. Vjosa Osmani – Sadriu, together with the Minister of Health, Mr. Arben Vitia, welcomed today the doctors and staff of the American organization “Gift of Life” with whose financial support 30 Kosovar children with heart problems will be treated by a team of American, Italian and Kosovar doctors.
President Osmani said that the humanitarianism of this organization and its doctors is not only a gift for our children, but also for their families and for the state of Kosovo.

When a person's heart is protected and healed, life itself is protected. Respirations, movements, mind, ideas and the ability to work, act and contribute are also protected.
Together with the Minister of Health Mr. Arben Vitia we welcomed today the doctors and staff of the American organization “Gift of Life”, with whose financial support 30 Kosovar children with heart problems will be treated by a team of American, Italian and Kosovar doctors.
Bleona was accompanying the staff of “Gift of Life” and also helped with the translation. Full of life and very dynamic, she is one of the children to whom the doctors of “Gift of Life” had prolonged her life a while ago, with the help of his program.
The humanitarianism of this organization and of its doctors is a gift not only to our children but also to their families and to the state of Kosovo.
This is the first mission of this organization since the beginning of the pandemic, but “Gift of Life” has already carried out five such missions in Kosovo during which hundreds of Kosovar children have been treated.
Our eternal gratitude to Dr. Francesco Santoro, Dr. Herbet Stern, Dr. Ribera Santoro, Mr. Rob Raylman, director of the GOL organization, Dr. Mazllum Belegu, administrative head of GOL for Kosovo as well as to the local medical staff led by Dr. Bejiqi.
We hope to transfer the experience and the know-how of our friends to the Cardio-Paediatric Service of the ShSKUK which must be operational in Kosovo, and to our kids I wish good health and long life!
