President of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Atifete Jahjaga, met today in Dubrovnik, Croatia, with the President of Republic of Albania, Mr. Bujar Nishani, with whom she discussed the general actual developments in the Balkan region.
President Jahjaga and President Nishani praised the relations between the two countries and emphasized the need for concretisation of cooperation platforms, particularly those in the field of economy, thus becoming an example of cooperation in the Balkan region.
President Jahjaga and President Nishani said that participation of the countries of the region, on equal footing, at the regional initiatives, helps western Balkans on its European path and ensures good neighbourliness and regional stability. They also said that Brdo-Brioni process is an excellent initiative which ensures inclusiveness of EU in joint projects of the countries of the region in fields of infrastructure and energetic.
They also discussed other political developments both in Kosovo and Albania.
President Jahjaga and President Nishani, together with presidents of other countries of the region, are attending the Brdo-Brioni Summit, being held in Dubrovnik, Croatia, hosted by the President Ivo Josipovic of Croatia and also attended by the Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, Ms. Angela Merkel.
