President of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Atifete Jahjaga, met today the Foreign Affairs Minister of the Republic of Armenia, Mr. Eduard Nalbandyan, with whom she discussed the international consolidation of Kosovo as well as other processes which the country is going through on its path of strengthening of the state subjectivity.

President Jahjaga informed Minister Nalbandyan with the advances achieved by the Republic of Kosovo on the process of the recognition of its independence, bringing to 107 the number of confirmed recognitions from countries around the globe. President Jahjaga said that recognition of the statehood of Kosovo is also recognition of the vision of its citizens for the building of a state which is a factor of peace and stability in the region and beyond, and encouraged Armenia to undertake such a step as well.

President Jahjaga emphasized the ambition of the Republic of Kosovo to become member of the European Union and NATO as a contributor of the collective security and economic and political cooperation, as well as an equal member of all other international organisations and mechanisms.

Minister Nalbandyan praised the achievements of Kosovo, particularly the inter-state dialogue process on normalisation of relations with Republic of Serbia, and expressed readiness of the Armenian government to work with the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo on the advancement of its integrative processes.
