President Atifete Jahjaga was received by the Prime Minister of Hungary, Viktor Orban

The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Atifete Jahjaga, during the third day of the state visit to Hungary, was received by the Prime Minister of Hungary, Mr. Victor Orban. Hungarian Prime Minister Orban, after having expressed the pleasure on the arrival of the President of Kosovo in his country, praised the good relations between Kosovo and Hungary and said that his country has provided support and will continue to support Kosovo in its integration processes.

Prime Minister Orban said that both countries should increase the level of cooperation in particular in the field of economy and said it is necessary to promote the Hungarian business in Kosovo.

Mr. Orban said that Hungary will assist Kosovo on its European path and will be engaged in encouraging member countries of the EU, which have not yet recognized Kosovo, to do so.

The Hungarian Prime Minister said that his country is a good example in the exchange of experiences for the integration of Kosovo in the EU and stressed that for this it needs a strong support of the influential European countries. Prime Minister Orban said that the Balkan region should have an open path of integration and was committed on continuing the process of EU membership for all the countries of the region.

The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Atifete Jahjaga, while thanking the Hungarian Prime Minister for the warm hospitality during the state visit in Hungary, said that the relations between both countries are developing overall in the political and governmental field but considered that relations in the economic field are very important.
She said that Hungary can play a major role in the preparation of Kosovo in the Euro-Atlantic integration process, because its experience is important for Kosovo to meet the conditions and standards for membership.

President Jahjaga said that Hungary can help in new lobbying for Kosovo and the continued support from Hungary will also help in the maintenance of peace and stability and in establishing new relationships, which will assist the whole Western Balkans on the road to EU integration. She said that Kosovo needs contractual relationship with the EU and the Hungarian support in lobbying to the five countries that have not yet recognized Kosovo, particularly to the countries in its neighborhood.

The President of the Republic said that the dialogue mediated by the EU with the Republic of Serbia, is being developed for the fact that there is no other option how to force Serbia to meet its obligations, and international as well, towards Kosovo. She said she supports the dialogue because it is to the benefit of all citizens, but also because it is the only way to reach agreements based on European standards and practices.

President Jahjaga and the Hungarian Prime Minister, Orban, also discussed about a number of other issues which are of interest to both countries.
