President of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs Atifete Jahjaga, received today at a meeting the former Prime Minister and AFK Chairman, Mr Ramush Haradinaj and his co-workers.
President Jahjaga welcomed Mr Haradinaj and congratulated him on his release and on the proclamation by the International Court on War Crimes in The Hague of his innocence on all counts. She said that this is elation and joy not only for his family but for all the citizens of Kosovo as well, because the cause for which Mr Haradinaj has fought and engaged on, remains untarnished, and that his contribution for the society and for Kosovo, will be significant, similar to his contribution in the past.
President Jahjaga stated that Kosovo has undertaken important steps ahead in democratic processes, but as every other state during the transition period, it is making attempts to realize its aspirations while respecting the Constitution and the Laws of the Land.
Madam President praised the contribution of AFK as constructive and substantial, and stated that by the nomination of the vice-chairman of this Party as a Political Coordinator for the Dialogue with Serbia, its contribution on this process will be further augmented.
President Jahjaga offered her support and her assistance to Mr Haradinaj and said that she counts on his personal engagements and that of the party he leads in joint activities towards the development and advancement of the country with regards to the advancement of the Euro-Atlantic integrational processes and enhancement of relationships with our international friends.
AFK Chairman, Mr Ramush Haradinaj thanked President Jahjaga for the reception and for the offered support. He also praised the reception made for him in Kosovo after his release and said that he has been following closely all the processes that Kosovo has been going through.
President Jahjaga and Mr Haradinaj also disscussed the dialogue process between the Republic of Kosovo and republic of Serbia, process this being held with the facilitation of the EU and supported by the USA.
