The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani Sadriu, after the taking of office ceremony, received in her first meeting the team of champion judokas.
“My first guests in the Presidency were those who highly raised the flag of Kosovo where neither politics nor diplomacy could reach. For several years, the judokas of Kosovo have become our best ambassadors”, said President Osmani. Majlinda Kelmendi, Nora Gjakova, Distria Krasniqi, Loriana Kuka, Akil Gjakova and many others have not only reaped historic successes in this sport, but have highly raised the flag and honored the anthem of Kosovo even in countries that have not yet recognized Kosovo.
According to the President, they are the most positive part of the story about Kosovo anywhere in the world. “They are the pride of our nation. With their results, they have put Kosovo on the world map, so we are grateful to each of them! The competitive spirit of our judokas carries on its shoulders the hope of our youth that nothing is unattainable and that with dedication, work, passion and discipline dreams come true”, said President Osmani.
