Governor General of Canada congratulates President Osmani on the occasion of the 17th anniversary of Kosovo’s independence

The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani, has received a congratulatory message from the Governor General of Canada Mary May Simon, on the occasion of the anniversary of the country’s declaration of independence.

In her message, the Governor General emphasized the close ties between the two countries, which are based on shared values and goals, including a commitment to peace, regional stability and democracy. She reiterated Canada’s unwavering support for Kosovo’s European and transatlantic path and appreciated the progress made in this regard.

According to the Governor General, the Kosovar diaspora in Canada represents a vibrant and engaging community that contributes significantly to Canadian society through cultural heritage, academic engagement and participation in social and economic life.

At the end of the congratulations, the Governor General expressed her desire to continue strengthening bilateral ties and cooperation in international forums, wishing President Osmani and the people of Kosovo good health, happiness and prosperity in the coming year.
