In a ceremony organized today, 41 decreednewjudges, took the oath in front of the President of the Republic of Kosovo, Madam Atifete Jahjaga.
Also present at the ceremony was Mr. Enver Peci, President of the Kosovo Judicial Council.
Speaking before the new judges, President Jahjaga stressed:
We are gathered here today to take the oath that you will perform your work with honor and professionalism. This commitment of yours, which you will testify through this oath here, must be your sole guide, to make Kosovo a place of rule of order and law.
Your impartiality, honesty, and professionalism is the best evidence to create a justice system which should be a fair, honest and an insusceptiblesystem.
All of us must work together to draw a justice system from the old mentality, by rebuilding and making it an uncompromising justice system, making a strong justice system, a justice system based on the values of professionalism and on the values of political impartiality and a justice system, which must regain the trust of the citizens in our courts and our judges.
You know very well that the time has come for us to work with a much greater intensity to solve thousands of cases that have been accumulated and collected in our courts. We must work with greater intensity, to be more conscious, more responsible, as each employee in the justice system today.
Above all, you know very well that it is time to see a justice system, which operates on the principle that nobody is above the law. Because, only in this manner we can increase the confidence of our citizens in our justice system, in our judges, our courts and only this will be a proof that the criminals will be faced with the hand ofjustice.
To do all this you need to be professional judges, courageous, skilled and conscientiousjudges, judges who will see the justice system in Kosovo through the full implementation of the law and which will open the perspectiveto the citizens of our country, to convince them that their country should be led only by the hand of the rule of order and law and equality before the law.
