The Acting President of the Republic of Kosovo, Albulena Haxhiu, received today the representatives of the Association of Former Political Prisoners of Kosovo.
“During the meeting, we discussed the association’s activity in preserving historical memory, on the importance of documenting the violence and torture that the Serbian regime exercised against thousands of Albanian prisoners during the decades of resistance for freedom,” said Acting President Haxhiu.
The challenges faced by the association were also discussed, and the Acting President Haxhiu assured them that, within the competences of the Presidency, she will remain by their side in their initiatives for the documentation and preservation of historical memory.
Acting President Haxhiu expressed her deep appreciation for the extraordinary contribution of former political prisoners in Kosovo’s journey towards freedom and independence.
