The Acting President of Kosovo, dr. Vjosa Osmani, together with the Deputy Speaker of the Assembly of Kosovo, Arbërie Nagavci, and the Minister of Justice Selim Selimi, met the representatives of the “Thirrjet e Nënave” organization from Gjakova.
At the meeting there was discussed about the Law on Missing Persons, which was considered necessary all present at the meeting
Acting President, Mrs. Osmani requested that the process of drafting the Law on Missing Persons to be finalized in the near future and the same to be approved by the Assembly. She requested coordination between the Assembly and the Government of Kosovo that the final text of this Law should include the recommendations of the “Thirrjet e Nënave” organization and similar organizations representing the families of the missing. This Law, among others, would provide institutional support for the families of the missing.
Whereas, the Minister of Justice, Selim Selimi expressed the readiness of the Government of Kosovo for this Law to be approved as soon as possible and for it to be processed for approval in the Assembly.
Acting President Osmani and the Deputy Speaker of the Assembly, Mrs. Nagavci on the other hand said that the Assembly will push this issue ahead hoping that this law will receive the necessary support of all political groups.
