The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani, during her two-day state visit to Albania, visiting at the invitation of President Bajram Begaj, was accompanied by the First Gentleman Prindon Sadriu.
Apart from joint meetings with President Osmani, the First Gentleman carried out a series of special activities with the First Lady.
At the meeting with Ms. Begaj, the First Gentleman Prindon Sadriu thanked her for the magnificent reception for President Osmani and her delegation. The relations between Kosovo and Albania were assessed as excellent, as the First Gentleman and the First Lady pledged their continued commitment to the further expansion of relations in the field of affirming national values and empowering the marginalized groups of the society.
The First Gentleman, who is also a reserve military officer, during his state visit to Albania, was also received by the the acting commander of the Defence College Arben Toska, as well as Colonel Emëror Hajdarasi of the Defence Academy of the Republic of Albania. On this occasion, Mr. Sadriu, was informed with the organization, operation and aims for the forthcoming future of the Academy, in addition to the evaluation of the possibilities for expansion of the cooperation between the two academies. The First Gentleman expressed his gratitude to the Academy for the professional training of many KSF cadres over the past decades.
Lieutenant Colonel Sadriu, in the capacity of the president of the Association of Reserve Officers of Kosovo, also held a meeting with the leaders of the Association of Reserve Officers of Albania, where he was received by Colonel Hamit Gojani, president of the association, as well as his colleagues. Lt. Col. Sadriu expressed his satisfaction that the cooperation between the two associations initiated a few years ago has resulted in joint successes and is well on its way to being strengthened even further. In addition to affirming and advocating for the rights of reservists, he emphasized that the main goal of the Association is membership with full status in the Association of NATO Reservists (CIOR). The First Gentleman was awarded a Certificate of Honor by President Gojani in recognition of Mr. Sadriu’s contribution.
In addition to the official meetings, the First Gentleman also visited the National Public Museum “House of Leaves”, as well as the “Bunkart 1” and “Bunkart 2” Museums, where he got acquainted with the written and material elements of historical, national, scientific, cultural and artistic character. In the framework of these cultural activities, the First Gentleman also participated at the exhibition dedicated to Mother Teresa, at the decree of citizenship of Kosovo presentation ceremony to the world-famous author Ismail Kadare, as well as the visit to the Venetian Tower in Durrës.
The First Gentleman participated at the state dinner laid by President Begaj.
In addition, the First Gentleman also attended the “Patron of the Castle” title presentation ceremony awarded by the city of Berat to President Osmani, at the visit to the Kosovo Customs Office in the Port of Durrës as well as participated at the meeting with the Mayor of Durrës, Emiriana Sako.
