President Osmani awarded the Presidential Military Medal to the US military leaders within KFOR

On the occasion of the end of their mandate, the President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani awarded the Presidential Military Medal to the Colonel Chris M Mabis and Lieutenant Colonel Jared B. Sheets, for their leadership and extraordinary efforts in guaranteeing security, peace and freedom of movement to all citizens of Kosovo, during their service within the KFO peacekeeping force in Kosovo.

She also bestowed a Presidential Appreciation to Lieutenant Ryann Laky of the Indiana National Guard Headquarters, for her contribution to liaising and cooperation with the Kosovo police as well as the empowerment of women in the security sector.

After expressing her gratitude to the three American soldiers and to all KFOR soldiers for their engagement to the guaranteeing of the safety and freedom of movement to all the citizens of Kosovo, even risking their lives, President Osmani emphasized that their leadership has played essential role in maintaining peace and stability in Kosovo and in the region at a very sensitive time.

“The people of Kosovo are forever grateful to the irreplaceable and precious contribution of the US Army and other allied armies to peace and stability. Our relations with the USA are existential and we will not cease engaging to further strengthen the strategic relations between the Republic of Kosovo and the United States of America,” emphasized President Osmani at the ceremony.

The US officers thanked President Osmani for the honor, expressing the hope that peace and stability will be remain long-term in Kosovo, as will the relations with the USA.
