The President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani, during her official visit to Montenegro, was received by the Prime Minister of Montenegro Dritan Abazoviq.
At the meeting with Prime Minister Abazoviq, President Osmani highly praised the neighbourliness with Montenegro, to which the Albanian community in this country and the Montenegrin community in Kosovo provide their mutual contribution.
President Osmani stated that Montenegro is a partner to Kosovo in which it has found continuous support and expressed the hope that this support will continue even further.
In this spirit, President Osmani said that the continuous strengthening of Kosovo in the international arena requires the support of amicable countries such as Montenegro.
President Osmani stated that Kosovo’s membership in the Council of Europe is important for the protection of the basic rights and freedoms of all citizens of Kosovo without distinction, reiterating the importance of support from Montenegro.
With Prime Minister Abazoviq, President Osmani also discussed the current developments in the region, putting special emphasis on the tendencies of Russia and Serbia to destabilize Kosovo, Montenegro and the region. President Osmani asked for a unified stance against destabilization tendencies and emphasized that Kosovo’s continuous aim is the peace and stability of the country and the region.
The expansion of cooperation in the field of economic exchange, trade, tourism, education and other areas of mutual interest was also discussed at the meeting.
