The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, received the EU Ambassador to Kosovo, Tomáš Szunyog, and a team from the United Nations Office in Kosovo led by Nona Zicherman.

The latest developments related to the population census process, which is expected to be conducted in Kosovo this year, as well as the procedures that must be finalized for its successful completion, were discussed during the meeting. Speaking about the special importance of this process, President Osmani stated that she will constantly support it by underlining the importance of its implementation, as well as the fact that the updated statistics will also contribute to the provision of numerous development projects. She expressed her belief that this process will be supported by all parties since it is beneficial to all institutions and citizens.

The meeting went on with a discussion between President Osmani and Ambassador Szunyog about the approval of three agreements within the Berlin Process by the Government of Kosovo. President Osmani welcomed this Government’s decision and spoke about the importance of these three agreements being ratified as soon as possible by the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo.

She stated that with the ratification of the agreement on freedom of movement, the agreement on the recognition of professional qualifications of doctors, dentists and architects in the context of the Central European Free Trade Agreement, as well as the agreement on the recognition of higher education qualifications in the Western Balkans, the freedom of movement in the Western Balkans will be significantly advanced.
