Last night, the President of the Republic of Kosovo, Justina Shiroka Pula, attended a screening of the “DUA” movie—written and directed by Blerta Basholli—at the Cineplexx cinema. The event was organized as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Madam President commended the film for its approach to depicting the war in Kosovo through the experiences and emotional inner worlds of young people.
“Movies like this play an immensely important role in preserving historical memory, safeguarding our truth, and conveying the Kosovo experience to younger generations and to the international public,” stated President Shiroka Pula.
In this regard, Madam President congratulated director Blerta Basholli and her team on the creation of the film and its international success.
The “DUA” movie was honored with the SACD Award at the Cannes Film Festival, as part of the “Semaine de la Critique” program, and also received three awards at the International Historical Film Festival in Belgium.
