Upon assuming office, the President of the Republic of Kosovo, Justina Shiroka Pula, paid tribute today at the “Adem Jashari” Memorial Complex in Prekaz, at the grave of the historic President Dr. Ibrahim Rugova, and at the grave of activist Adem Demaçi.
In Prekaz, President Shiroka Pula honoured the sublime sacrifice of the Jashari family and the legacy of the legendary commander Adem Jashari.
“Prekaz remains a symbol of an unprecedented resilience and sacrifice for the homeland,” said so the President.
While paying tribute at the grave of the historic President Dr. Ibrahim Rugova, she acknowledged the wisdom and vision whereby he led Kosovo during one of the most pivotal periods of its history.
“His political legacy and vision for a free, democratic Kosovo oriented toward the Western world serve as a guiding light for us”, emphasized further President Shiroka Pula.
At the grave of activist Adem Demaçi, the President honoured his life and work, highlighting that he dedicated his entire life to the freedom and dignity of the people of Kosovo.
“Through his determination and sacrifice, Demaçi became a symbol of resilience and defiance in the face of injustice,” she stated.
President Shiroka Pula emphasized that honouring these figures serves as a reminder of the foundations, i.e., sacrifice, vision, and resilience of generations, upon which the state of Kosovo is built
