The Acting President of the Republic of Kosovo, Albulena Haxhiu, participated today in the marking of the commencement of the Irish presidency of the Council of the European Union.
In her address to the participants, Acting President Haxhiu emphasized that enlargement is a matter of credibility and security of Europe.
“Kosovo has clearly defined its European direction, has fulfilled its responsibilities and deserves to be marked by the same standards as other countries,” emphasized Acting President Haxhiu.
According to her, the Irish Presidency can help ensure that enlargement remains a credible process and that Kosovo does not remain hostage to political blockades that do not depend on its progress.
