The Acting President of the Republic of Kosovo, Albulena Haxhiu, participated tonight at the reception held on the occasion of the official birthday of His Majesty King Charles III.
According to her, for Kosovo, the friendship of the United Kingdom has never been abstract, it has been present at important moments in our history, on our path to freedom, in the consolidation of our statehood and in our efforts to build a democratic, peaceful and secure country.
She further said that the United Kingdom has stood by Kosovo through political support, through security cooperation, through development, education, culture and people-to-people ties, adding that British soldiers, diplomats, experts, teachers, artists, journalists and many friends of Kosovo have contributed to the relationship we honor tonight.
“When we talk about the ties between Kosovo and the United Kingdom, the names of Dua Lipa and Rita Ora need no introduction. They remind us that the connectivity between our countries is not only institutional. It is also human, cultural, creative – and sometimes heard on every radio station in the world”, said Acting President Haxhiu.
She further said that as a young republic, Kosovo understands that institutions are not built once and for all, adding that they are built, strengthened and protected every day: through service, through trust, through patience and through the responsibility we bear towards the generations to come.
“In this work, friendships matter. And the friendship between Kosovo and the United Kingdom has been profoundly important. It has been present in difficult times, in decisive moments and now, in the joint work of building a safer, more democratic and more prosperous future”, emphasized Acting President Haxhiu.
