The Acting President of the Republic of Kosovo, Albulena Haxhiu, met with the President of the Republic of Slovenia, Nataša Pirc Musar, on the sidelines of the South East European Cooperation Process (SEECP) Summit in Sofia.
The good relations between Kosovo and Slovenia, as well as Slovenia’s continued support for Kosovo’s European and Euro-Atlantic path, were discussed at the meeting.
Acting President Haxhiu expressed Kosovo’s gratitude for Slovenia’s support in the Council of Europe membership process and stressed the importance of this support continuing through to the successful conclusion of the process.
The meeting also addressed Kosovo’s next steps on the path towards the European Union, including the need to make progress on reforms, align with the EU’s foreign and security policy, and commit to European values, followed by concrete moves in the integration process.
Acting President Haxhiu expressed her gratitude to Slovenia for its contribution to KFOR as well, emphasizing the importance of this engagement for Kosovo’s security and the stability of the region.
