President Osmani awards the activists for the Rights of Persons with Special Needs on Their International Day

On the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, the President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, has reached a decision to award the Presidential Medal of Merit to a group of activists who, through their tireless commitment, have contributed in an extraordinary manner to the empowerment, protection of the rights and dignified inclusion of this category in our society.

This year’s awardees are: Halit Ferizi (post mortem), Agim Vatovci (post mortem), Sabrije Zeqa (post mortem), Merita Voca (post mortem), Mexhid Foniqi (post mortem) and Hiljminijeta Apuk.

These activists, through their public advocacy, field work and continuous protection of the rights of persons with special needs, have influenced the increase in social awareness, the advancement of public policies and inclusion. Their contribution is an example of civic commitment and values, which President Osmani constantly affirms.

The medals awarded will be bestowed at a special awards ceremony to be held at the end of December 2025.
