Madam President: September 11th 2001 is a wound and a memory of immeasurable pain, but also a testament to the united strength of the democratic world

The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, together with the Speaker of the Parliament Dimal Basha, the acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti and the representative of the Embassy of the United States of America, paid homage at the plaque placed in honor of the victims of the September 11 terrorist attack.

President Osmani wrote:

September 11, 2001 is a wound and a memory of immeasurable pain, but also a testament to the united strength of the democratic world.

On the 24th anniversary of the September 11th 2001 terrorist attacks in the USA, we honor the memory of approximately 3,000 innocent lives lost and the suffering of their families.

Those dark hours changed history forever, but they failed to break the spirit of freedom.

An unbreakable solidarity was born from the ashes of tragedy, a determination that terror will never triumph over freedom and human dignity.

On this day that reminds us of the fragility of peace, Kosovo stands shoulder to shoulder with the American people, today, tomorrow, and always, in defense of peace and a better future for generations to come.
