July 2, 1990, the day when the foundations of the Republic were laid
Today we proudly remember the Constitutional Declaration of July 2, proclaimed by 114 delegates of the Assembly of Kosovo in front of the doors of this institution forcibly closed by the criminal regime of Serbia.
With this historic act, which preceded the Kaçanik Constitution on September 7, women and men challenged the regime and gave voice to the will of the people for a Republic of Kosovo, paving the way for independence and freedom.
This day of courage and vision remains the foundation of our statehood.
Eternal honour to the delegates of July 2, the visionaries who paved the way for the dream of a free and sovereign Kosovo.
