Summary of the Visit to Washington, D.C.

During her official visit to Washington, D.C., President Vjosa Osmani held a series of meetings with American officials and congressmen, and was one of the guests of honour at the Prayer Breakfast. During her stay in D.C., President Osmani held:

• A meeting with the US Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs at the Department of State, Louis Bono;
• A meeting with Congressman Brian Mast, Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs in the US House of Representatives;
• A meeting with Congressman Keith Self, Chairman of the Subcommittee on Europe in the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the House of Representatives;
• A meeting with Congressman Mike Lawler;
• Delivered a Keynote speech at the International Luncheon organized as part of the Prayer Breakfast, in front of thousands of participants, hosted by the US Congress in Washington, D.C.;
• Delivered a speech at the Inter-Parliamentary Security Forum, where she was the guest of honor;
• Addressed the Young Presidents Organization dinner, as part of the Prayer Breakfast;
• A meeting with Nobel laureate and former Executive Director of the UN World Food Program, David Beasley;
• A meeting with leaders and experts of The Heritage Foundation, one of the most influential institutes in American public policy.

President Osmani also participated at:

• The Prayer Breakfast, where President Trump delivered a speech;
• The International Inter-Parliamentary Luncheon on Capitol Hill;
• The opening dinner of this year’s Prayer Breakfast meeting.

During these activities, President Osmani had the opportunity to meet with the King and Queen of Burundi, the Prime Minister of Fiji, the Vice President of the Philippines, former presidents and prime ministers from around the world, as well as congressmen, governors, and leaders from the business world.

President Osmani also held meetings with representatives of our diaspora in the United States of America.
