The President met the KSF Commander following the visits of the US Deputy Assistant Secretary and the British Minister

Prishtina, December 01, 2017 – The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, received today the Commander of the Kosovo Security Force, Lieutenant General Rrahman Rama.

Following the successful visit of US Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense, Laura Cooper, and the Great Britain Minister of State for the Armed Forces, Mark Lancaster, with whom President Thaçi, several days ago, spoke about the Kosovo Security Force, he was informed today by Lieutenant General Rrahman Rama also about the progress made in the recent months about the transformation of the Kosovo Security Force into the Armed Forces of Kosovo.

President Thaçi assessed that the Kosovo Security Force is an example of multiethnic representation.

“The KSF has managed to become a professional force, with NATO standards, which is an example of gender and ethnic representation. Its transformation into the Armed Forces of Kosovo is for the benefit of the citizens of all communities and above all for the benefit of our common state”, declared President Thaçi.

Whereas, Lieutenant General Rahman Rama stressed that the Security Force is prepared and ready to take on additional responsibilities.

At the meeting of President Thaçi with the KSF Commander the messages given by the US Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense, Laura Cooper, and by the Minister of State for the Armed Forces of Great Britain, Mark Lancaster, were also appreciated, who expressed their commitment to create a sustainable platform, stressing that the key to success in the transformation of the Security Force into the Armed Forces is the cooperation and partnership with NATO.
